WordPress 4.4, Codenamed “Clifford” was released on December 7, 2015.
Clifford, named after jazz trumpeter Clifford Brown, is a planned features update. For information on what new features will await you in this new release, visit:

Since this is a larger update, it might take a little while for all plugins to become current. Once all of your website’s plugins are updated or confirmed compatible with the new software, I will contact you personally to set up an upgrade date.
